EASY SHEPARDS PIE
– Peeled / quartered potatoes
– Butter
– Salt
– Onion
– Garlic
– Frozen mixed veggies (peas and carrots)
– Ground beef
– Beef broth
– Worcestershire sauce
– Seasonings to taste
1. Place potatoes in at least 1″ of water in a pot on the stove. Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer, and cook until tender
2. Chop onion
3. Melt butter in sauté pan, add onions and garlic; cook until translucent
4. Add frozen veggies and cook until tender
5. Add ground beef until no longer pink; drain excess fat
6. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and other seasonings to taste
7. Cook uncovered for around 10 min, adding broth to keep from drying out
8. Drain potatoes; add butter and mash
9. Add seasonings to taste
10. Spread cooked meat / veggie filling on the bottom of a casserole dish
11. Spread mashed potatoes over the top
12. Bake at 400° for 30-45 min, until browned and bubbling
